[1] Emine Emel Balcı (b. 5 August 1984) is a Turkish documentary and fiction film director.

Balcı worked as assistant director and assistant director in the cinema and TV series industry. She has also directed many short films and documentaries.

The 2015 film  Until I Lose My Breath, written and directed by Emine Emel Balcı, competed in the "Best Debut Film" category at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.

AGOS Interview (In Turkish)

Until I Lose My Breath tells the story of Serap, a young textile worker woman. Since he does not have much peace in the house where she is staying. Fed up with her abusive brother-in-law and detached sister; the only thing that keeps Serap going is the hope of moving into an apartment with her father who is a long distance truck driver.. She doesn't give up, even though there are obstacles she faces.
