I wish God's mercy upon Soydan, who will always live in our memories with his contributions to Turkish cinema and the characters he portrayed, and I offer my condolences to his family and loved ones."

Murat Soydan was born on October 2, 1940 in Lüleburgaz, Kırklareli.[5] His real name is Rüçhan Tercan. He completed his primary and secondary school in Lüleburgaz and high school in Edirne. He came to Istanbul for university. While studying at the Academy of Economic Sciences, he also graduated from the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory Turkish Music Department. He also worked as a civil servant at Tekel during his university education.[citation needed]
After completing his military service as a reserve officer, he won the competition held by the magazine "Perde" in 1966 together with Tanju Korel and moved on to cinema.
Murat Soydan, who started his artistic career in cinema in 1966 with the film "Kolsuz Kahraman", took part in nearly 200 films. The artist, who also played in TV series, was the president of the Cinema Actors Association for a period. Murat Soydan, one of the "Young" actors of the 1970s, shared the leading roles with Türkan Şoray and Hülya Koçyiğit in many films. Murat Soydan published a book about his life and films in 2016.
Murat Soydan was selected first in the competition organized by ''Perde'' Magazine in 1966 and started his cinema career with the film "Armless Hero" (1966).[8] Murat Soydan, who played the leading roles in many films such as ''The Most Beautiful Woman in the World'', ''Ayşem'', ''Yalan Yıllar'', ''Kahveci Güzeli'', ''I Will Not Return to You'', ''April Rain'', ''Yarın Başka Bir Gündür'', took the stage in the garden of 'Över' in İzmir in 1969, and acted in films until his death.
