He was born on June 13, 1925 in Istanbul. He is a Turkish businessman of Jewish origin. He had a brother named Sami Kamhi and an older sister named Sharlot. He spent his childhood in Tepebaşı. He studied at Bene Berit primary school. He graduated from Saint Michel High School in Şişli, Istanbul. Then, he graduated from Istanbul Yıldız Technical University by studying engineering.
