The map shows the number of churches and schools in the provinces under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in Asia Minor in 1912. Those in the Adana province, which is under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Antioch, are not included. The number of students of both sexes attending schools in each region is indicated by a square symbol. Symbols appearing as a cross above a circle indicate the number of churches in each region.

The map was compiled by Dimitris Notis Botsaris (1889-1980), a lieutenant colonel in the Greek Army and a member of the Athens Geographical Society and the Paris Geographical Society. According to the map, in 1912, there were 2,079 churches, 2,683 priests, 2,049 schools, and 165,381 students in Asia Minor. The statistics are based on the 1912 Ecumenical Patriarchate census.
