In Memoriam | Uğur Terzioğlu (1933-2022)

Uğur Terzioğlu, Founding Honorary President of the American Turkish Business Development Council (ATBD Council), passed away.

Terzioğlu, who lost his life in Muğla Training and Research Hospital, where he had been treated for five months, was buried in the family cemetery after the funeral prayer held at noon in his hometown, Muğla's Milas district, Kurşunlu Mosque.

Uğur Terzioğlu, the Founder and Honorary President of the American Turkish Business Development Council (ATBD Council), a veteran of the Turkish business world, passed away.

Uğur Terzioğlu, born in Milas in 1933, first started his career in the family company Terzizade Fabrikaları Board of Directors. Later on, Terzioğlu went to Italy and founded a company called Filmcentre there. Terzioğlu, who was the General Coordinator of the Italian Astaldi S.P.A that built the Bolu Tunnel, also served as the Chairman of the Board of Taba Amcham. Terzioğlu is a Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Board Member), TESEV (Founding Member), Ankara Traffic Foundation (Founding Member), Italian Chamber of Commerce (Member), Darüşşafaka High Advisory Board member, Democracy Council of California Turkey Representative, Fenerbahçe Sports Club Congress Member , especially played a major role in the development of Turkish-American relations.

Uğur Terzioğlu, who speaks English and Italian, was also the recepient of many awards. These included the French Presidential Order of the Knight, the MPEA (US) Certificate of Merit, and the Italian Presidential Order of Merit.
