[1] Derek Coventry Patmore (1908, London - 1972) was a British writer. He was the great grandson of the poet Coventry Patmore.
Patmore was educated at Uppingham School. He worked as a war correspondent in the Balkans and the Middle East, writing for the News Chronicle and the Daily Mail.

Turkish literature is extremely rich in terms of literary community and movements between the last period of Ottoman State and the first years of the Turkish Republic. With "̄kinci Yeni Movement",a second literary movement existed between the years 1950-1960 which is called Demokrat Party Era by the researchers was "Forum Movement". "Forum Movement" which defended a synthesis of Turkish culture with Western culture was especially renowned for novels and different sorts of stories. Forum community that aimed to produce under the effects of the poets, storytellers and novelists of Modern Western Literature like T.S. Eliot, James Joyce, Franz Kafka, Virginia Woolf and Marcel Proust established a pro-modernist literary movement. like the poets and writers they followed. The defender of the movement was Metin And. Bilge Karasu, Feyyaz Kayacan, Mehmet Başaran and Oktay Rifat also wrote in conformity with the ideas of the movement. Poets and writers that form the "Forum Movement" especially worked and wrote in the journals "Forum", "Yenilik" and "Pazar Postasi".

Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun son dönemleriyle Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında Türk edebiyatı edebi muhitler ve hareketler bakımından son derece zengindir. Araştırmacılar tarafından Demokrat Parti dönemi olarak adlandırılan 1950-1960 yılları arasında, İkinci Yeni hareketi ile birlikte var olmuş başka bir edebi hareketin adı “Forum Çevresi”dir. Türk medeniyetinin Batı medeniyeti ile sentezini savunan “Forum Çevresi”, özellikle roman ve hikâye türlerinde verdikleri eserlerle adlarını duyurmak istemişlerdir. Batı edebiyatından T. S. Eliot, James Joyce, Franz Kafka, Virginia Woolf ve Marcel Proust gibi modern edebiyat temsilcileri olan şair, öykücü ve romancıların etkisiyle eser vermeyi hedefleyen “Forum Çevresi” tıpkı takip ettikleri sanatçılar gibi modernist bir edebi hareket kurmuşlardır. Hareketin savunucusu Metin And’dır. Bilge Karasu, Feyyaz Kayacan, Mehmet Başaran ve Oktay Rifat hareketin görüşlerine bağlı olarak eser vermişlerdir. “Forum Çevresi”ni oluşturan şair ve yazarlar, genellikle Forum, Yenilik ve Pazar Postası yayımları etrafında eser vermişlerdir.
