Statement on Terror Attack in Ankara, Turkey

As Co-Chairs of the Congressional Caucus on U.S.-Turkey Relations and Turkish Americans, and as friends of the people of Turkey, we are deeply saddened by the murder of nearly 100 peaceful demonstrators and the wounding of hundreds more in the terrorist bombings this past Saturday in Ankara.

We condemn this attack against freedom-loving people, who were exercising the fundamental rights of freedom of assembly and freedom of expression as they were attacked by enemies of democracy, civilization, and our common humanity.

We express our sincere condolences to the people of Turkey, who are in our thoughts and prayers today, and we stand in solidarity with them at this terrible moment.
