y a eu un début d'émeute, mais les forces de l'ordre y ont rapidement mis fin.
Le consul américain à Beyrouth, qui se trouvait à Urfa pour traiter je ne sais
quelle affaire, a même félicité les autorités. Il a fallu la révolte de
septembre-octobre pour qu'une mesure d'expulsion soit prise.
After the murder of two policemen in Urfa in August 1915,
there was the beginning of a riot, but the security forces have quickly quelled
it. The American consul in Beirut, who was in Urfa to make some sort of a a deal, even commended the authorities. It
took the revolt of September-October for a deportation order to be made.

Edward Morris Wistar (1852-1941)
In 1896, E. Morris Wistar travelled to Asia Minor
as a special field agent, under the auspices of the American Red Cross, to administer relief to Armenians in Anatolia.
Documenting his mission to administer relief to Armenians
in Anatolia in 1896 is Wistar's correspondence with his wife, Margaret, Clara Barton, Asa Wing, J. Bevan Braithwaite, and letters from field workers such as C.F. Gates and J.B. Hubbell and missionary Corinna Shattuck, as well as others.
There are also his diary, report to the Red Cross, financial records and photographs.
