THE GREATEST EARS IN TOWN: THE ARIF MARDIN STORY (2009) a documentary about the life and career of 12-time Grammy Award-winning producer, arranger, and composer Arif Mardin produced by Joe Mardin was screened at New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center, Bruno Walter Auditorium on June 16, 2010. The screening was presented by The Recording Academy® New York Chapter and the Producers & Engineers Wing, in collaboration with The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
The Greatest Ears in Town' is an documentary and testimonial to the producer Arif Mardin's life. It encompasses interviews with many of the stars that he helped create as well as photographs, home footage and a story that built the hits that are now known as international classics.

Joe Mardin (born Yusuf Mardin) is a music producer, arranger and engineer from New York City. He is a Berklee College of Music graduate and is the son of producer Arif Mardin. Joe is also a conductor, songwriter and drummer.

ReplyDeleteIt seems this documentary is in very limited release. Apparently, the only way most people are going to see it is if they purchase the DVD or wait for Netflix to carry it.
