USS Constantinople

There is a space ship called USS Constantinople in the Star Trek expanded universe that will exist as a Federation transport used to ferry settlers that was in the mid-24th century, 925 years after the fall of Constantinople.

The Star Trek Encyclopedia describes this vessel as an Istanbul-class starship, with a registry number of NCC-34852. In an early draft of the script, the Constantinople was identified as the Mary Rogers, The plot is about a brilliant scientist, Dr. Ira Graves, who attempts to cheat death by uploading his memories and personality Data in "The Schizoid Man", the sixth episode of the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, production that first aired January 23, 1989.

The USS Constantinople is a Steamrunner class starship. From 2378 to 2380 she was assigned to patrol the Black Cluster and the Breen Border, under the command of Captain Aaron Kennedy. In 2380 the Constantinople struck a gravitic mine and was crippled. After being towed back to base, her crew was reassigned.
