CEO of Pepsi-Cola Icecek, Turkey, Ümran Beba was appointed as the head of the Asia-Pacific section of Pepsi. Beba will oversee Pepsi's operations in 18 countries from Hong Kong. Considered a candidate for her seat in the future, Pepsico’s female CEO Indra Nooyi, Beba will now oversee operations in 18 different countries, with over 6,000 employees in the Asian Pacific. Ms Beba started her career with PepsiCo when she entered Frito Lay in 1994. Having been with the company for almost 15 years, Ümran Beba served in various roles including human resourses, sales and marketing, taking up the responsibilities of the general manager for Pepsi Co Turkey activities in 2001. She holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from the İstanbul-based Bosphorus University.
Along with the UK, France, Spain and Russia, Turkey has become one of the five main centers of operations overseeing company's business activities across south-eastern Europe. The Turkey-based PepsiCo subsidiary is responsible for running the company's business in 14 countries, including Greece, Cyprus, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Israel. PepsiCo's south-east European regional headquarters are headed by a successful Turkish businesswoman, Ümran Beba.
