Çarşaf Humor Magazine 1975-1992

Mavi Boncuk |

Çarşaf magazine, whose first issue was published on December 17, 1975, was published by Erol Simavi, the owner of the Hürriyet newspaper at the time, with the idea of competing with Gırgır, which was slowly making a splash at the time.

The magazine, whose general manager was Çetin Emeç, created a distinct visual style with its school-colored cartoons, in contrast to Gırgır, which was published only in yellow. Çarşaf, which lost its strong staff at the beginning, fell behind even the second magazine Fırt, which was published by the Gırgır team.

Çarşaf Magazine, which was published for 17 years under the editorship of Nehar Tüblek and then Semih Balcıoğlu, ended its publication life as the humor supplement of Hürriyet Newspaper in 1992.
