Václav Havel (5 October 1936 – 18 December 2011) , Czech leader of '89 'Velvet Revolution,' dead at 75. A former dissident playwright, was the revered first president of Czechoslovakia after it overthrew Communist rule. His slogan: 'May truth and love triumph over lies and hatred.'
